Houston, We Have...Nope, No Problem Here

Hey everyone!

It has been a BUSY but fun week for me. A few days ago, a couple of friends and I took a little road trip to Houston, Texas which is about two hours from where I live. It was for business but we had to have a little fun while there. It's such a beautiful city! Unfortunately, my camera's battery was low and I was able to only snap a few pictures. If you want to see the trip, keep reading! :)

On the way:
The guys were so kind to drive for us.

Rocking a simple twist-out.

My beautiful best-friend April'el.

By the time we had finished taking care of business, we all were HUNGRY so we headed straight to a restaurant to eat. We decided on The Cheesecake Factory which was located inside of the Galleria shopping mall.

I love tea!

Jamaican Black Pepper & Mango Shrimp

Okay, so let me take a moment to tell you just how AMAZING this dish was. I ordered the Jamaican Black Pepper & Mango Shrimp and it was absolutely amazing. The sweet and spicy flavors played off each other perfectly and tickled my tongue which made me giggle out loud. This was my first time trying fried plantains but I loved them! This is a dish that I will definitely order again! I thoroughly enjoyed myself here and our waiter, whose name I can no longer remember, was so polite and helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Once our tummies were satisfied, we went on to explore the beauty of the Galleria.

I loved this display in Neiman Marcus.
I stumbled upon Teavana and fell in love.
I have heard so much about Teavana from my fellow bloggers out there and when I saw that the Galleria had one I had to stop by and see what all the raving was about. As soon as my friends and I walked in, one of the ladies working offered us a sample. I'm very skeptical about samples and I usually decline all offers but I decided to accept hers. I said a quick prayer (lol) and tasted the tea. To my utmost surprise, it was AMAZING. I was expecting to be disappointed with some bland flavored liquid but instead got a kick in my mouth infused with cinnamon, orange, and ginger. I didn't plan on buying anything during my trip so I left the store promising to go back at a later date to purchase something. After walking around for another two or three hours and STILL not being able to get that tea off my mind, I tried more samples and ended up settling with the original tea I tasted. It won my heart.

What I went home with:
A travel tumbler that allows me to steep my tea on-the-go and a canister of Samurai Chai Mate & White Ayurvedic Chai tea to go along with it! :)

I had an AWESOME time in Houston with my friends. It was nice to take a break from the stresses and cares of everyday life and have a little fun with the people you love the most. I'm excited for our next adventure and I'll be sure to share it with you guys!

Much love and peace,
xoxo Rita
